Calgary Medical Dermatology

Dr Alanen is a dermatologist, first and foremost. Dermatology is the medical specialty which deals specifically with the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease. In Canada, Dermatology is a five year post medical school residency program which thoroughly covers medical, paediatric, surgical, laser, oncologic aspects of skin disease.

Dr Alanen has pursued post-residency training in lasers and skin cancer treatment. He has spoken internationally on multiple occasions and has coauthored peer-reviewed articles and a textbook.
